"We Believe" User Assumptions
-
We believe that a search system for parking spaces filtered by restrictions for visitors and UMD students will reduce confusion around parking restrictions. We'll know if we're right by looking for a reduction in parking infractions.

-
We believe that implementing a map with live tracking and a game-day calendar for visitors will provide an easier way to know where to park and reduce the number of tickets received. We will track this through the number of users accessing the game-day calendar and putting in their profiles that they are visitors.

-
We believe that implementing different colors to represent percentage availability per lot for UMD staff members will help save commuters time and create a more even distribution of parking availability per lot.

-
We believe a parking availability app for commuters and visitors at UMD would help reduce parking-related stress and confusion. We will know by seeing an improvement in student happiness through in-app surveys.

-
We believe that tracking parking trends will allow UMD students, commuters, and visitors to be able to best plan for their parking needs in advance to help reduce difficulty parking on campus.
